How did we make „Bliscy Krewni’ blood donation app a user-friendly solution? 

1. Recipients were the basis that determined the direction of our work. Thanks to the close and trust based relationship with the client, we could reach the audience directly. Blood donors turned out to be a very grateful and committed group, which, when asked for help, joined the action. Our way to examine their needs was conducting workshops during which we learned about users’ needs and pain points. 

2. Before the development phase has begun, we have run a usability study to test the proposed solution. Interactive design prototypes allowed us to see how the product felt for users, as well as for the client. We used the gathered insights to inform our design and make user-centered adjustments to improve the overall experience.

3. As we knew that the client had a limited budget, we tried to find opportunities to save financial resources throughout the whole product development process. That’s why the blood app was built on React Native which allowed for reaching multiple platforms but also saved money and time. How exactly does this happen? React Native allows for splitting one code and using it for iOS and Android.

4. A few factors led us to the decision that it was necessary to launch the app’s basic version first, and then, improve the app gradually. The priority while providing the first version, was to solve the user’s main problem. Further app updates were intended to deliver improvements that users will point out as needed.

5. The donors (users) and their feedback were our best weapon to make the blood donation app better with the next app update. We gathered the feedback (from Facebook groups, platforms reviews, and surveys) and used it to make the next improvements. This way we were positive, that donors will get what they truly need.

6. Together with our sister brand – the Kava digital agency, we set ourselves the task to tell the world about the product and the brand’s activities. We know how important product promotion is, which significantly support its adaptation among users. Therefore, we took care of promotion on social media platforms and run various image campaigns.
